Network Applications
The performance of eRide’s product portfolio of High Sensitivity GPS hardware devices can be further enhanced with the use of Assisted-GPS (A-GPS) data generated and delivered by the eRide A-GPS Server Software and a Network of GPS Reference Stations.
eRide’s A-GPS data eliminates the need to decode GPS satellite navigation data thus allowing for operation in environments where signal strength is well below the minimum –146 dBm normally required. A-GPS data consists of satellite almanacs, Compact satellite Models (CSM), time and information about the ionosphere and troposphere and Long Term Satellite Models, among other data. With a simple, quick, connection to an A-GPS Server the GPS receiver has all the information required to significantly improve Time to First Fix (TTFF) and solution accuracy.
The OPUS LTSM Long Term Satellite Model offers the ability to download and store Satellite Models valid for up to 7 days that enables A-GPS levels of performance without the need for more periodic connection to the A-GPS Server.
eRide owns and operates a world wide Network of GPS Reference Stations and can provide A-GPS data through a hosted A-GPS Server. A-GPS Server Software is also available for installation on Location Based Service provider or Carrier Servers.
