OPUS IIIez Chipset
ePV3600
ePR3036
OPUS IIIez is based on eRide’s latest generation of GPS technology, defining Satellite Navigation to new performance heights.
Engineered as a cost effective highly integrated architecture, it provides unparalleled performance by combining a hardware measurement platform with powerful Navigation Software running on an embedded controller. It delivers fast, accurate positioning, velocity and timing (PVT) data ideal for wireless applications and handheld system in challenging locations like indoor environments and deep urban canyons.
ePV3600 is a GPS/AGPS PVT receiver including the eRide's OPUS III baseband processor with 44,000 effective correlators combined with an ARM7TDMI-S®-based MCU with on-chip ROM and SRAM. It is capable of working indoors by acquiring and tracking signals down to -161 dBm. ePV3600 takes in a single low-IF input from the ePR3036 GPS-RF front-end chip. The embedded microcontroller can operate from external parallel Flash or from on-chip ROM. Serial Flash is also supported. The device includes full GPS firmware which performs acquisition, tracking, and position, velocity and timing data output. A serial bidirectional interface supporting NMEA and eRide Serial Interface Protocol allows for easy interfacing to the applications.
ePR3036 operates on a 3V supply, while ePV3600 requires either a single 3V supply or 3 and 1V supplies, if available. In the first case, the on-chip sophisticated power management unit and regulators provide the necessary supplies for the core. ePV3600 is fabricated using CMOS 90 nm technology with 1.0V supply for the core, offering low power consumption and small package size. ePV3600 receiver, together with the ePR3036 RF front-end down converter chip makes up eRide's low cost, high performance AGPS/GPS solution.
